Glyceryl Lanolate CR is formed by condensing lanolic acid with glycerol. The resultant ester is a rich mixture of mono, di and tri esters that can be used as either an emulsifier or an emollient. These proportions of mono, di and tri esters can be further refined and separated to produce two distinct fractions; the first being a concentration of mono esters, and the second being a concentrated combination of both the di and tri esters. These two products are defined as Glyceryl Lanolate MG and Glyceryl Lanolate DTG respectively
